NYC...

I look down at my fingernails, painted red and chipped from wear since my last manicure. My thoughts revert back to when I got the manicure in anticipation of my first solo trip to Manhatten. Deep red nail polish seemed appropriate for the Big Apple. The combination of Orville Peck and Cabaret proved too much to resist. With the help and encouragement of KJP (thank you, Kev), I got tickets to Cabaret, the final Friday with Orville Peck in the role of Emcee, and built the whole trip around that... Hotel, air fare, and time off work.

I'd never seen New York like this, warm, balmy, sultry and seductive. I'd seen it in spring, and snow-covered winter, but not this sexy summer-city. Orville was spectacular in Cabaret. His tall stature, and resonant growl is something I'll cherish having experienced forever. Not to mention the adorable, and talented actor who sat next to me in the mezanine for a few minutes at the beginning of the second act, inviting me to pet his furry chest, but I digress...
After my evening at the Kit Kat Club, I stayed close to my hotel on the Upper West Side and wandered around. Memories include browsing an outdoor market, and sitting on a bench to enjoy some treats I got for breakfast while people watching. Meandering through Central Park to enjoy epic city-views, watching couples in paddle boats circling around the lake near the elegant arch of the Bow Bridge, and the way the evenings cooled down as everybody seemed to be holding an ice cream cone on their way to wherever they were going. There are so many beautiful moments I saw and experienced. In fact, I fell in love with Manhatten in a whole new way on this sojourn.
NYC, goodbye for now. Until we meet again.
XO,
Michelle
